Causes of chest pain. This happens because of the organs that are situated over the chest region. Basically, the first thing we need to rule out is cardiac cases like chest pain can happen because of cardiac origin, that is coronary artery disease or aortic problem or mitral valve prolapse and other conditions. Second in some cases like emotional or anxiety or some cases like depression and such cases also you can experience this chest pain. Gastric problems, because the stomach is situated over that region. So it can happen from gastric ulcers or bowel disorders like IBS etc and in some cases because of muscular related problem like myalgia or because of costochondritis, that is called the ribs pain. In some cases after herpes zoster, it can happen in such cases of pains. Whereas in neurological pains, that is the nerve related problems also you experience chest pain. And in some cases because of pulmonary origins like pleurisy or pneumothorax. So whatever may be the condition, based on the history, we have to do few investigations like ECG, x-ray, we have to do some investigation to rule out other cardiac or pulmonary or gastric related problems. So gas and distension do also act like chest pain and it can mimic like cardiac origin problems. So it can be managed by short meals and frequent meals and not drink water while having meals and walking or exercise and avoiding sedentary works can avoid this condition.
